HONEST BREAD

Community Guidelines

Honest Bread exists so people can learn to bake in public without being embarrassed about it. Failed loaves are welcome. Meanness is not. These guidelines apply to everything you post: bakes, recipes, questions, answers, journals, reviews, and comments.

Be kind to beginners

Every dense crumb on this site belongs to someone who is trying. Critique the bake, never the baker. If you can explain what went wrong, do it the way you'd want it explained to you on your first attempt.

Be honest

  • Post your real results, including the failures. That is the point of the site.
  • Only post photos you took yourself, or have permission to use.
  • If a recipe is adapted from a book, site, or baker, say so and write the instructions in your own words.
  • Reviews must reflect your genuine experience with the tool. Disclose it if you have any connection to the maker.

No spam or self-promotion

Don't post advertising, affiliate links, or repeated links to your own site or channel. Sharing your bakery's story in context is fine; turning threads into billboards is not.

Keep it safe and legal

  • No harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks;
  • No sexually explicit or violent content;
  • No posting anyone's private information;
  • No content that infringes copyright (see our Copyright Policy).

Reporting and enforcement

Every post has a Report link. Reports go to the site moderators, who may remove content, warn members, or suspend accounts. We'd rather coach than ban, but repeated or serious violations end accounts. If your content is removed and you think we got it wrong, reply to the notification or contact us and we'll take a second look.
